This fine bone china thimble is one of a collection of thimbles that are decorated with art from the designs of William Morris.

William Morris (1834-1896) was a leading British architect, writer, artist and designer, probably most famous for his wallpaper and textile designs. There are several museums and galleries in the United Kingdom that display his work.

The design on this thimble is based on his most famous tapestry 'The Tree of Life' woven in the late 19th century
