This antiqued polished pewter thimble would make a great addition to your thimble collection.

Ned Kelly was born around 1855 and was hanged on the 11th November 1880.

After his family had been being persecuted by the police for years, he was convicted of killing three Australian policemen.  He was considered to be a folk hero by many, especially the Irish-Australian community . His ionic helmet was part of a suit of armour that he made on a bush forge and was used in his final shoot out with the police.

Indentations made by gun shots can be seen on the helmet.

Ned Kelly’s complete suit of armour is on display in the State Library of Victoria
